Matching of different databases from the Swiss Federal Statistical Office
Feasibility study
KidsToo has signed an agreement with the Soziale Arbeit department of the Berner Fachhochschule.
The agreement concerns the feasibility study for the matching of different databases from the Federal Statistical Office.
The central database for the project is police crime statistics.
Objectives
If feasibility is demonstrated, the main objectives of the study will be :
- estimate the repetition of violence among the same victims, the same perpetrators and the same victim-perpetrator configurations,
- mettre en évidence d’éventuelles stratégies de type “DARVO” avec des plaintes préventives ou contre-plaintes de la part des auteur.e.s,
- highlight any ‘DARVO*’ type strategies with preventive complaints or counter-complaints by the perpetrators,
- estimate the intergenerational correlation of domestic violence,
- estimate the costs of domestic violence in a similar way to the 2013 study commissioned by the Federal Equality Office (update after ten years),
- compare the costs of ‘non-domestic’ and domestic violence, both for adult victims and for the victims’ children,
- ETC.
