KidsToo Reports
KidsToo publishes a series of reports based on publicly available data that shed light on various aspects of domestic violence from a unique perspective.
Derived from FSO data sets
The first group of reports is at national level. It is based on police crime statistics and various tables published by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) on this subject since 2010, as well as on population data since 2011 and detailed statistics on victim support since 2019.
The statistics published by the FSO are an aggregation of cantonal data. Access to data by canton is not public and requires resources that the Foundation does not have itself. Before committing external resources, the Foundation has chosen to base itself on the very partial data published by the various cantons in order to detect any differences between the cantons.
“K2” violence indicators
KidsToo has defined its “K2” indicators to measure different aspects of domestic violence and make comparisons with official indicators dealing with violence in general and domestic violence in particular.
The Foundation has identified the various articles of the Criminal Code used in the official violence indicators and its own “K2” indicators.
Derived from data sets published by the Swiss Paediatric Society
Every year since 2009, the Child Protection Specialist Group (GPE) has been systematically identifying children and adolescents who have been treated as outpatients or inpatients in a Swiss paediatric clinic for suspected or proven abuse.
It seemed to us that a graphical perspective of the evolution of these annual statistics might highlight certain trends and raise questions.
