The child protection group is an interdisciplinary assessment and advice centre for voluntary specialised child protection at the paediatric clinic. It advises private individuals and professionals on what to do if they suspect a risk and/or child abuse in relation to the mental, physical or sexual integrity of children between the ages of 0 and 16. Situations of risk and abuse can be clarified on the basis of discussions, child interviews or physical examinations. To do this, the indication and a corresponding assignment or clarification of the assignment must be provided by the civil or criminal authorities or by the legal guardians.

The child protection group team is made up of employees from the fields of psychology, social work and medicine. Their approach is transparent, proportionate, open-ended and networked.
