The victim support centre in Goldau is the central point of contact for victims and their relatives or trusted persons. They will find support, advice and guidance from a team of proven experts in a difficult situation. The advice is confidential and free of charge. It is available to any victim of a violent crime or accident, regardless of whether criminal proceedings have been opened or whether the perpetrator is known. The only requirement is that a criminal offence has been committed intentionally or negligently within the meaning of the Swiss Criminal Code. The victim advisory service will also be happy to help you claim compensation and damages.

The specialist unit for victims of violence advises and supports victims of violence and their relatives. We offer free legal, psychological and financial support for victims and, if requested, we coordinate support from other institutions. Our discussions with victims of violence are strictly confidential and subject to legal confidentiality requirements.

The victim support centre offers support for victims of crimes against life and limb. According to the Victim Support Act, a victim is someone whose physical, sexual or psychological integrity has been directly violated by a criminal offence. In particular, this may be the case after:

• assault, domestic violence, attempted murder
• rape, sexual assault
• serious or multiple threats, coercion
• deprivation of liberty, hostage-taking
• traffic accident

Not every crime qualifies for victim assistance benefits. Theft, fraud or property damage, for example, are not criminal offences within the meaning of the Victim Assistance Act.

Our victim assistance services include the following:

• Counselling and social-psychological support for victims and their families after a crime
• Referral to legal, psychological and social support
• Reimbursement for legal and psychological counselling
• Cost reimbursement for emergency accommodation, home care, childcare, etc.

LAVI counselling centres:

• provide free support, advice and information to anyone who has suffered a direct attack on their physical, mental or sexual integrity,
• offer legal, medical, psychological, social and material assistance,
• provide support with administrative and legal procedures and referrals to specialist services (doctors, psychotherapists, lawyers, etc.).

Consultations by appointment and strictly confidential. You do not need to have filed a complaint to go to a LAVI consultation centre.

The Grisons Victim Support Service advises and supports women, men, children and young people affected by violence. We provide confidential and anonymous advice free of charge and anonymously if you so wish.
You can also contact us if you have not filed a criminal complaint.
