The Point Rencontre Fribourg organises accompanied visits and is open to anyone referred by court order or under a mandate from an official social service. Anyone may contact us on their own initiative for advice on accompanied visiting rights.

Before visiting the Point Rencontre Fribourg for the first time, you are asked to contact the management. They will be given a presentation on how the visit works and the arrangements.

The Point Rencontre is a place where accompanied access rights can be exercised and offers a protected environment where children and parents who are entitled to accompanied visiting rights can meet under the supervision and protection of support staff. The main aim of the Point Rencontre is to improve the relationship between parents and children.

The Point Rencontre also offers accompanied handovers of children during visiting rights. Under supervision and in a protected environment, children can pass from one parent to the other.

The aim of the Association is to help children and their parents who are experiencing personal or family difficulties:

  • a boarding school with a special school – the Centre médico-pédagogique (CMP)
  • an outpatient support unit for families with small children – Le Coteau
  • a visiting support structure – Espace contact
  • a day centre for young people – ASEJ Les Croisettes
  • a boarding school with a special school – le Home-Chez-Nous (HCN)

The Unité de prestations espace rencontre (UPER) provides three different services:

  1. A service for children who have left the boarding school and are placed with a foster family or with one of their biological parents.
  2. A service for children in boarding care who see their parent(s) away from home.
  3. Provision for children who have left boarding school to return home. The aim of the first two services is to maintain the parent-child bond in a special place. The home service is provided by two UPER educators. This service is provided when the child returns home from boarding school.

The supervised visits benefit from a team of trained mediators and various premises in different parts of eastern Vaud, enabling it to provide mediated services for meetings between a minor and one of his or her parents. These measures can pursue several objectives:

For children, the relationship with their parents is of great importance. After a separation or divorce, difficulties can arise in exercising the agreed visiting rights. In such cases, the Accompanied Visitation Centre (BBT) offers support. The BBT is aimed at children aged from around six months to a maximum of 16 years and their parents.

Offers
– The BBT is a neutral and safe place where children can meet with the parent they are not living with. The BBT
is attended by several children and their parents at the same time.
– For capacity reasons, visits from other relatives are only possible in exceptional cases by prior arrangement.
– The BBTs take place in the supplementary childcare centre of the Inneres Lind kindergarten. There are many toys and
indoor and outdoor play facilities are available.
– The BBT is supervised by a specialist and their team. Where necessary, they offer encouragement and assistance in organising time together.

Accompanied visits enable parents and parents who are unable to exercise their visiting rights independently to participate in the development of their children and their well-being. During accompanied visits, contacts and emotional bonds between parents and children are established and developed. The welfare of the child is the main focus.
